First update to the blog since I published the first post three and a half years ago.

Looked for the most ‘jekyll on Node.js’ I could find to move away from Octopress and Rubyland and settled on hexo.

Importing the existing posts was pretty seamless following the migration guide. The only other requirement was to copy the assets directory into public and then run the generate command.

It is using the default theme with a slightly modified header section. Good enough for now though I may put together my own theme in the future. This blog is purely for text posts and most themes seemed designed to accommodate quick links and image galleries with some jQuery code I do not need.

The other significant change I would like to make is to move it to https-only. Github pages currently do not support https with custom domains so I’ll probably look at an S3 bucket or surge.sh.
